We teach children about the Four Cs of online risk:
Our staff, pupils, and parents work together to create a supportive environment where children can enjoy the benefits of technology while staying safe online. We regularly review our policies and provide up-to-date guidance in line with national online safety standards.
At St Hilda’s, we take your child’s online safety seriously. As technology becomes a bigger part of everyday life, we aim to give pupils the tools they need to stay safe, act responsibly, and know where to turn if something goes wrong.
We are a WEB-SAFE School
Be WEB-SAFE is a school-wide strategy aimed at improving online safety and wellbeing. It creates a proactive WEB-SAFE culture that engages all stakeholders- pupils, staff, families and governors and supports positive online mental health and well-being across a whole-school approach to online safety, and online disinhibition.
It also empowers staff, pupils, and families to understand how their brain works differently in a digital world. It teaches pupils about the psychology behind our online behaviour and how they can keep themselves safe in a simple way. Together, we aim to equip our pupils with the skills they need to be Safe, Appropriate, Friendly & Educated (SAFE) when online.
What this means for our school:
We encourage families to talk openly about online use and to stay involved in their child's digital life. We regularly share resources and tips to support safe and healthy use of technology at home.
If you ever have concerns about your child’s online activity, please speak to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
