Misty Mountain, Winding River
This project teaches children about the characteristics and features of rivers and mountain ranges around the world, including a detailed exploration of the ecosystems and processes that shape them and the land around them.
Grid References
We have been looking at Ordnance Survey maps and have been identifying features in Snowdonia, The Lake District and Yorkshire. We have been identifying hills and mountains using contour lines, using 4 figure grid references to identify areas on a map and looked at how else we can determine the height of land using a map.
Vista
We have been looking at landscapes in art and have been practicing some techniques to create different atmospheres in our work. We have also practiced mixing different colours to make different shades.
