World Book Day

This year, World Book Day is on Thursday 6th March. As always, the aim of WBD is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. At school, we are going to be celebrating POETRY with the beautiful book 'Midnight Feasts' by A F Harold.

Midnight Feasts 

 

This year, we are exploring poetry through the fabulous book, Midnight Feasts. It is a delightful anthology that brings together over 50 poems celebrating food in its many forms. Curated by A.F Harold and Illustrated by Katy Riddell, the collection features works from poets such as, Lewis Carroll, W.S Gilbert, and Imtiaz Dharker, offering a diverse mouth- watering selection. From chocolate and rice pudding to mythical treats, this book is sure to tickle the taste buds of readers young and old. 

 

 

Share a Story

 

Why not take ten minutes to share a story with your little one? Use the video books from the World Book day website to enjoy a story together. There are some great stories available! 

 

Audio Books

 

Check out World Book Day's 'World of Stories' where you can enjoy a range of free audio books. Audio books are a brilliant way of enjoying stories together as a family or on your own.
